Re: C4 Cactus 2020 Brazil (PF1 platform) - PAF2.20 - Temperature control not working - Continental AIO RCC A1 part 98366
Hello Hiworld community and support team,
I hope everyone is doing well. I'm writing from Brazil seeking help from this knowledgeable community regarding my canbox setup.
After extensive research and testing, I successfully installed an Android head unit in my Citroën C4 Cactus 2020 (Brazilian market) using the Hiworld PAF2.20 canbox. I want to share my findings and kindly ask for assistance to solve the last remaining issue.
Vehicle details:
Car: Citroën C4 Cactus 2020, Brazil market
Platform: PF1 (same base as C3 Gen3 — the Brazilian C4 Cactus is NOT the same as the European C4)
Original radio: Continental AIO RCC A1 CEM 00
Original radio part number: 9836619480
CAN protocol: CAN2010 / AEE2010
Canbox details:
Model: Hiworld PAF2.20
Firmware: H1H2PAF23A-260413
Best profile found after testing all available Citroën profiles: Hiworld → Citroën → C3 → 2025~Present → All
What works perfectly with this profile:
✅ A/C on/off via touchscreen
✅ Fan speed control via touchscreen
✅ Rear window defrost
✅ Air renewal / recirculation
✅ Outside temperature display
✅ Steering wheel controls
✅ No errors or warnings on dashboard
What does NOT work:
❌ Temperature adjustment via touchscreen
Important technical detail about this vehicle's A/C system:
This car does NOT use digital temperature in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit. The original system uses a simple cold/warm bar (LOW → MID → HI) controlled via CAN bus — similar to an analog scale, not a numeric value. I believe the current profile is sending degree-based temperature commands (like 18°C → 25°C) that the BSI does not recognize. The correct CAN frame mapping should send analog bar position commands instead.
Profiles tested without full success:
C3-XR, C5 Aircross 2017~2022, C4L 2019~Now, C3 Brazil 2022~Present, C-Quatre, C4 2010~2015. The C3 2025~Present gave the best results by far, but temperature control still doesn't respond via touchscreen.
I understand this is a unique Brazilian market vehicle that shares the PF1 platform with the C3 but carries the C4 Cactus name. There are many owners of this car in Brazil who would greatly benefit from a firmware update or a dedicated profile.
If anyone from the Hiworld team or the community has experience with this specific BSI configuration, or if a firmware update with the correct CAN frame mapping for analog temperature control could be considered, I would be deeply grateful.
Thank you so much for your time and support. Any help is truly appreciated! 🙏
